CURE Course

The undergraduate "Ants & Microbes" (BSC 2930) course allows students to participate in the IRIS Lab's research projects from a classroom environment.

What is a CURE Course?

In CURE (Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience) courses, students can learn about and participate in research projects via a classroom environment.  This course is part of a set of courses sponsored by the UF Center of Undergraduate Research.

Course Topics

In the "Ants & Microbes" course, students learn basic techniques such as micropipetting, help conduct soil and ant DNA extractions, learn about statistical software, and improve their communication skills through individual presentations and participation in the UF Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium.
